Ford’s Chapel Alabama Wedding

“A Believer’s marriage is not for personal fulfillment- whether single or married, the believer is seeking to glorify God most.”

December 30, 2017 was a particularly emotional day for me. Just 6 months prior, I had the blessing of being able to stand next to my best friend say “I do” to the love of her life. I blinked and 6 months had passed. My eyes filled with tears as I realized that I was about to stand up next to my other best friend as she said “I do” to the love of her life. But quickly putting my selfishness aside, I was awestruck by the faithfulness and goodness of the Lord. The purpose of life is not to marry the person of your dreams and live in comfort. It is to glorify God and enjoy him forever! Becca and Billy, your wedding filled me with an overwhelming sense of the purpose of life, as I realized you were about to enter into a covenant marriage. In this covenant marriage, I know you will daily pray and ask the Lord to be glorified most. This marriage was SO BEAUTIFUL because the core of it was to bring glory to the Lord!

I could make this blog post about how amazing Becca and Billy are. I have had the privilege of knowing Becca since we were in 3rd grade. Through the past 15 years, I am blessed to still be best friends with Becca! Billy, I have only known for a few months. But when I met you Billy, I knew you would fit right into the group. I could go on and on about the amazing qualities these two have, but I know they would not want that. Just like they wanted their wedding and marriage to reflect Christ,  I’m sure they would want the same for this blog post!

One thing that was evident through this beautiful, brisk December day, was the passion for the gospel this couple has. Becca and Billy, you are passionate about Christ, and about others! I know if you continue to keep Christ the center of your life and your marriage, that God will use you in mighty ways! I love you both so much, and am excited to see how God uses you in this beautiful marriage! Also, in honor of Alabama’s win yesterday, ROLL TIDE!
