Lehighton, PA Wedding

“Ding, ding, ding.” A text message came through my phone a little before 8 am on Saturday morning. Optimistically, I grabbed my phone and checked the forecast for the day. The once impending rain had changed to partly cloudy and sunny for that Saturday evening. As I went to text Gabby to see if she still wanted to do photos, I received a text from her with a screenshot of the weather forecast. “What do you think,” she said. “Let’s do it,” I texted her back!

A year ago, Gabby and Ian had planned to tie the knot with all of their friends and family. But thanks to COVID, they were restricted to a very small capacity. To make matters worse, 5 days before the wedding, Gabby tested positive for COVID. So her once small wedding, became even smaller as her and her husband said their vows and became husband and wife.

A year later, we were all so excited to finally have a time to do official wedding photos of Gabby and her husband. But of course, the weather had other plans. All week, Gabby and I were both watching the weather. Everything looked good until Friday evening, when it looked like it was going to rain all day Saturday. But after waking up Saturday morning and realizing it had changed again, I grabbed my camera, hopped in my car, and made the 3.5 hour trek from upstate NY to PA.

To make a long story short, it began to rain when I showed up to the location. This was the same location where Gabby and Ian had their engagement photos. Check out that blog post here if you missed it! We stood in an open field, under umbrellas. After what felt like hours, the rain passed and an incredible double rainbow filled the sky. Thank you everyone for being absolute champs on such a dreary day! With a high of 50 and a damp wind, it was not an ideal day for photos, but boy am I glad we pushed through! Now without further ado, enjoy these wedding photos of Mr. and Mrs. Ian Christman!
