Happy almost April friends! It’s hard to believe that we are almost four months into 2022! Anyway, it’s been a hot second since I’ve blogged a session. The cold and the snow are not typically tempting for people to want to schedule sessions. But this session is extra exciting for a variety of reasons. For those who do not know, I am 1 of 11 children. I have 6 brothers and 4 sisters. I have one older sister and three younger sisters. Growing up, I did not always get along with my sisters. The sister below me, Rebekah, got on my nerves growing up. We constantly fought and yelled at each other growing up. Fast forward several years, and we are now very good friends! Rebekah, also known as Bitty because of her love of Bitty-Babies growing up, is 21.
Bitty currently works as a tech in the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown, PA. Additionally, she will be graduating nursing school in August, and also works as an EMT on the side. Basically, she is a boss. Several years ago, she met Kyle, a very good friend of my brothers. Over the years, Kyle has spent a lot of time with my family. As an only child, he enjoys having lots of “brothers” to hang out with. As the time that Kyle spent at my parents house grew, so did the affection between Bitty and Kyle. After what felt like forever, they started dating and not soon after, fell in love.
A few weeks ago, while snowboarding, Kyle popped the question. Flustered and trying not to fall down the mountain, my sister tried to compose herself as she realized what was happening. Of course she said yes, and now they are in full-blown wedding planning mode for a September 2022 wedding. Since I will be a bridesmaid in the wedding, I will not be the wedding photographer. But, I did get the pleasure of shooting their engagement session a few weekends ago! Thankfully the rain held off until we were finished! And what a special time for me, as I am grateful that instead of hating each other, we are now best friends. So enjoy some of my favorites from the session, as I go and cry lots of happy tears…
