“I got it”, I yelled as I jumped into the cold creek water, to save a plastic flip-flop from the forever doom of the strong current. After what felt like 10 minutes, but was only like 3 seconds, I saved an old navy flip flop from doom. As I celebrated my victory, I realized that my expensive Adidas slider, had fallen into the water. I realized just soon enough to see it float away, never to be seen again.
If I could name that day, it would be ‘The Search for the Lost Shoe.’ I learned many lessons that day. But one thing I will never forget is how faithful you are Becca. Even though deep down we both knew I would never find my shoe again, you faithfully searched for HOURS with me to find my shoe! And the terrain was treacherous to say the least! Since we had decided to creek walk after a flood, the water was high and the current was strong! But you are a faithful friend, and searched with me! We never did find that shoe though…
Becca and Billy, I do not even know where to begin. Becca, for as long as I can remember, we have been best friends. It all started back in elementary school when our families attended Pinebrook Bible Conference together. Even though we both did not like each other when we met, the Lord knew we needed each other! From all of our spontaneous pizza runs, to late night Netflix binge sessions, to suffering through community college together, our friendship has not been boring! It feels like just yesterday, we were in 5th grade performing plays for our moms!
And now, in just 10 short days, you are going to marry the man of your dreams! Billy, I remember when I first met you. I could tell immediately, that you were in love with Becca! Becca, however, did not believe that at the time. Fast forward 3 short months, and everyone could see the love between you two! Becca, I am beyond excited that the Lord has brought you two together! It has been so neat to see how God has used you both separately. But it is exciting to see how He will use you two better together! Your passion for people and for sharing the gospel is so evident through everything you both do! You are both extremely faithful people, and I am excited to see how you faithfully serve the Lord together for the rest of your lives!
