Happy October friends! It’s hard to believe that the 2023 wedding season is almost behind us. After having a baby a few months ago (and still not getting a lot of sleep at night), I feel like time is moving so slow, but also flying by.

After spending the summer at home with my son, I was very excited to jump back into photography this fall. I have had the pleasure of getting to second shoot for a variety of photographers, and also shoot a few of my own weddings.

Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle and John to chat about their October 2023 wedding at Settles Hill in Altamont, NY. We met up at Thacher Park last November and captured some golden hour magic! Check out their engagement session here if you missed it.

I was SO excited to spend the first Saturday in October capturing their wedding at Settles Hill. They were planning to have an outdoor ceremony and we were planning to capture some golden hour portraits at sunset. It was going to be epic.

Well, if any of you have paid attention to the weather recently, you will know that it has rained almost every single weekend here in Upstate, NY this fall. Even though it was predicting 100% chance of rain for Danielle and John’s wedding day, I was sure that we would get a break at some point throughout the day. Sadly, I was wrong.

Despite the fact that it rained more than I have ever seen on their wedding day, nothing could dampen their spirits. John and Danielle are seriously two of the most chill and down-to-earth people I have ever met. From starting off the day hanging out with the bridesmaids, to ending the day on the dance floor with the Refrigerators, it was a day to remember.
