The Boathouse Restaurant Wedding

The sky was blue. The wind was blowing. They were ready. Katie tenderly reached out and touched Kyle’s shoulder. As Kyle turned around to see his bride for the first time, his eyes swelled with tears, processing the beauty that was before him. They embraced, kissed, and enjoyed seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day…

If I had to pick a favorite part of wedding days, it would be the first look. Perhaps this is because my husband and I did a first look on our wedding day, and it was a special moment I will never forget. Or perhaps it is because I truly get to experience the pure, genuine love between two people about to become husband and wife.

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of getting to photograph Katie and Kyle’s Lake George wedding. I met Katie several years ago while working at Albany Medical Center. Last summer, we met up at Sleepy Hollow for their lakeside engagement session. Check out the blog post here if you haven’t already!

After their first look, Katie and Kyle proceeded to read their vows privately to each other on the dock next to the lake. Despite the wind, it was quite magical. I blame my third trimester pregnancy hormones, but I was moved to tears, even though I could not hear what they were saying to each other.

The remainder of the wedding day was filled with love and fun as their family and friends celebrated Katie and Kyle becoming husband and wife (shout out to the amazing bridal party). I’m thankful I got to work alongside so many amazing vendors and capture such a magical day! Katie and Kyle, thank you for entrusting me with your special day, and I pray that you cherish the memories from your wedding day for years to come!
