Happy Tuesday friends! It’s hard to believe that in just a few weeks 2021 will be over! Anyone else feel like they’ve been in a fog since 2020 or is it just me? These past few weeks have been spent with family, working, and getting ready for Christmas! Every year, a tradition my family has is to get together at my great Aunt’s house. We bake Christmas cookies, celebrate winter birthdays, and decorate the tree. This year we decided to add one more thing to an already crazy day! I decided to sneak away and capture some magical photos of my sister, my brother-in-law, and the little nugget in my sister’s womb.
Abby is pregnant with her third child. Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of capturing the milestones for her beautiful family. When my sister was pregnant with my nephew and then my niece, I was able to capture some maternity photos. But since this is the first pregnancy where we live in separate states, it was harder to coordinate a time to capture maternity photos. Additionally, Abby is measuring 10 days sooner than her due date, leaving us certain we will meet this baby before the new year! So when I realized I would be seeing her in early December, we jumped at the chance to capture some photos!
This pregnancy feels extra special to me. Just this past February, the Lord took home Lily Grace, a baby my sister was pregnant with for only a short time. When Abby texted me that she was in the ER losing the baby, my heart felt torn into pieces. Why would the Lord allow such a wonderful thing to happen, only to take it away? But the Lord’s ways are higher than our ways. My sister is someone of incredible faith, and I remember her telling me that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away, so blessed be the name of the Lord. May we all have faith like my sister!
