Hey friends! Can anyone else believe we are halfway through September already?! Not going to lie, even though the days are still warm, I’ve been drinking lots of pumpkin spice lattes and have been embracing all things fall. But I did not want to get too far into fall without sharing some end of summer goodness. Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting engagement photos for Darby and Loren. I have known Loren most of my life, as we grew up in the same church and attended the same youth group. I met Darby several years back when we both served on summer staff at Victory Valley Camp. Who knew that I would have so many lasting friendships from my time serving at a summer camp? In addition, I had the pleasure of working at the same hospital with Darby. We were both Patient Care Assistants on the same unit, and then I worked as an RN for 6 months with Darby before I moved to upstate NY.
Darby and I have always been close, but have grown closer over the years. I will never forget a particularly hot, summer day in August. I was going to go to a pool party for Bible study. I forget the specifics, but I ended up bringing Darby with me. At the pool party, she met a lot of my church friends, including Loren Skinker. I remember after the party Darby telling me how nice of a conversation she had with Loren. I encouraged her to message him on Instagram, and well, the rest is history.
I had the pleasure of doing couple photos for these two a few months later-sadly I never blogged that session. And you can imagine my joy and excitement when two years later, Loren asked Darby to be his wife. These two are planning to tie the knot on July 3, 2020! Darby and Loren, I am so excited for you two as you enter this new season. It has been so neat to see how the Lord has used you individually, and I can not wait to see how he will use you together as husband and wife! Here are a few of my favorite photos from this hot, buggy session. But honestly, these two are so natural behind the camera, you would never believe it was humid and full of bugs. Share with them some love by commenting below! Hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend!
