It all started with a cabin in the woods of the Adirondack Mountains…
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Chris and Alyse at the beautiful Great Pines Resort for their engagement photos. They’re both from the Syracuse area and met back in high school. Not long after they started dating, they took a cross-country road trip together.
Most couples would go a little stir-crazy after spending that much time in a car. But for Chris and Alyse, the trip brought them closer. Their love only grew stronger.
Fast forward to June 7, 2025. Chris proposed to Alyse in a romantic garden. After nearly ten years together, they were finally ready to start planning their wedding.
The Adirondacks have always been special to Alyse. She spent a lot of her childhood there, staying at her family’s camp. It’s a place filled with memories and meaning. So when it came time to choose a wedding location, it had to be the Adirondacks.
The Great Pines Resort is only about 20 minutes from her family’s camp, making it the perfect place to celebrate.
Exactly one year before their big day, we met at the resort for their engagement session. The sunset was stunning. The air was warm. The early fall colors were just beginning to show. A few friendly ducks even wandered into the photos. It was one of those nights you don’t forget.
