Happy December friends! I can’t believe it is only a few weeks away form 2026! These past few months have absolutely flown by, and I find myself playing catch up on all of the things. With being just about 34 weeks pregnant, I am full blown nesting and trying to get as much done as possible before baby girl makes her appearance!
This past fall was SO busy and I could not have been happier. I had the absolute amazing pleasure of capturing two proposals and engagement sessions in the same weekend! Check out Wayne and Laura’s Prospect Mountain Session here. One weekend in October, I captured an engagement session on a Friday, a wedding on Saturday, and then another engagement session on Sunday!
When Elias reached out about proposing to his girlfriend Ananda, I was SO excited! Elias had planned a weekend getaway at the Wylder Hotel in Windham. Not only does it have gorgeous fall views, but I shot a wedding there last year so I was familiar with the property, which was helpful with planning. But as we got closer to the big day, the weather forecast looked worse and worse. The days all around Sunday were supposed to be gorgeous, but there was 100% chance of rain forecasted for Sunday…
But Elias did not let the rain stop him! After figuring out a rain plan, which included using umbrellas and going inside if need be, we were ready. Elias found the perfect spot to propose right near a covered bridge, just in case it was raining when he popped the question. Naturally, it was down-pouring as I walked towards the covered bridge. When I arrived, I pretended to be a tourist taking photos of the nature, which gave Elias the opportunity to turn away from Ananda and get on one knee. When she turned around, she was shocked to see the gorgeous rock in her boyfriend’s hand!
I was SO excited that Ananda seemed so surprised! After saying yes and soaking in the moment, Ananda and Elias spent the next few hours with me as I captured some engagement photos for them. Thankfully, the clouds broke for a while, and we got some awesome photos with foliage and mountains in the background. As much as I hate rain and my clients being uncomfortable, rain does provide the most dreamy light to shoot in.
Ananda and Elias, thank you for fully embracing the awful weather we had that day in October! It was so fun getting to know you both and capture some special photos! I hope you enjoy this season of engagement, and cherish these photos for years to come!
