Keene Valley Engagement Session | Sam and Tom

The Adirondack Mountains, viewed from Keene Valley

The sky was blue. The air was mild. There was a slight breeze. The perfect evening for an engagement session.

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting up with Sam and Tom in Keene Valley for their engagement photos. Sam and Tom were referred to me by one of my favorite photographers Bridget Caitlin. I chatted with them over zoom about a year ago when they were looking for a wedding photographer. I immediately knew I wanted to photograph their wedding. Sam and Tom are kind, classy, love spending time outside with their puppy, and enjoy spending time with loved ones. Sam is a pediatric speech pathologist (wow, you go girl), and since she works at a school, gets the summer off. Tom is an environmentalist and they live in the Adirondacks.

When they asked about doing their engagement session in the Adirondack’s, I couldn’t be more excited! It was actually Tom’s idea to meet up at Marcy Field in Keene Valley. We planned to do their photos earlier in the summer, but got rained out. Thankfully, the date we rescheduled ended up being the most gorgeous night for photos! Not only did golden hour show off, but the mountains really popped once the sun started to set! It was such a fun session frolicking through the fields, and exploring a small stream across the street.

Sam and Tom are becoming husband and wife in just a few weeks! They will be having an outdoor wedding on her parent’s property! Check out another wedding I did a few years ago in the Catskill’s that was the most gorgeous backyard wedding. While their engagement photos are some of my favorite photos ever, I have a feeling that their wedding photos are going to be even more gorgeous! Sam and Tom, thank you for inviting me into your love story, and I can’t wait to capture your wedding in a few weeks!
