Happy Thursday friends! It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through February already. Does anyone else feel like January is the longest month of the year? While it was mostly restful and we had a wonderful week away in New Jersey, I’m grateful it’s over and spring is getting closer.
While this “off” season hasn’t been as slow as I have wanted (thanks to spending most days caring for my almost 8 month old baby), I have been able to devote some time to things I haven’t had time for previously, such as website updates and blogging. This past year has looked a little different for me, since I had a baby during the “busy” time of the year. So while I spent most of the summer at home adjusting to life with a newborn, I jumped back in full force in the fall.
Last year, I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside some very talented photographers (check out the best of 2023 blog post here). One of those photographers is Rebecca Loomis. When she asked me if I wanted to second shoot a wedding for her in June, when I would be 36 weeks pregnant, I did not even hesitate to say yes. I told her as long as I wasn’t in labor yet, that I would be there (at that point I did not know that I would have Oliver at 38 weeks).
Thankfully, I did not go into labor. Additionally, I was grateful it was not too hot. While I will let the photos tell most of the story, one of the most memorable moments of the day, was when the groom saw his bride for the first time. Since they chose not to do a first look, Ryan saw Anya for the first time when she walked down the aisle. It was a moment of pure, raw emotion that could not be re-created even if we tried. Becca, thank you for letting me be part of such a wonderful day! I’m so looking forward to working with you again this year (especially since I’m not pregnant).
