Jim Thorpe Engagement Session

Oh my goodness friends, it is with great excitement that I get to FINALLY write this blog post! So if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably saw that I got to shoot an engagement session in Jim Thorpe last week. Engagement sessions are one of my top favorite things to shoot, but what made it really special is that it was my best friend’s engagement session! Again, if you follow me on social media, you have probably seen that Gretchen and I are in nursing school together.

Gretchen’s family and my family grew up going to the same church together, but it wasn’t until nursing school that we became extra close! We are so close that people think we are step sisters. In addition, both Gretchen and I have determined that I need to find the male version of her if I ever get married! Praise the Lord we have been in every class together while in nursing school (I have no idea who I would study with until the crazy hours of the morning, if I didn’t have you Gretchen!) Not only that, but we also both have our own photography businesses. Gretchen graciously has been the second shooter for me at the two most recent weddings I have photographed. Go and check out her awesome website Gretchen Hope Photography.

Anyway, last Sunday, October 21, 2018, I got the magical Facetime phone call where Gretchen and Vincent announced, “We are engaged!” Cue lots of screaming, crying, and celebrating! Because Gretchen and I are both photographers, we only waited a whole 4 days before heading up to Jim Thorpe to capture some magical engagement photos! Despite it being 40 degrees, these two were champs and dressed to impress! Vincent and Gretchen both love hiking and the outdoors. On October 21, Vincent and Gretchen went hiking at Glen Onoko. At the top of the falls, Vincent got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked the magic question! I know Gretchen is going to post a blog post on her website about all the details so stay tuned for that! In the meantime, enjoy a few of my favorite photos from their session!
