The sun peeked through the clouds. Children were running through the grass. Flowers with stunning colors shined bright in the garden. It was the perfect day for a wedding reception.
A few months ago, while I was on maternity leave, I got a message from Kay-Leigh asking if I could capture her and her husband’s wedding reception. In April of 2023, they became husband and wife in Florida, surrounded by a few of their closest family and friends. But they did not want to miss out on the opportunity to celebrate with a bigger group of people, so they decided to have a vow renewal and wedding reception at the Pruyn House in Latham.
It was a bitter-sweet day for me. I was SO excited to be behind the camera again, but it was also the first day I was leaving my baby, who was only 10 weeks old.
There were so many sweet moments throughout the day. But one thing that really struck me was Bryon and Kay-Leigh’s love for children. Watching Bryon chase his nieces and nephews around with pure joy on his face and Kay-Leigh tenderly hugging them warmed my mama heart.
Another thing that stood out to me is how much Bryon and Kay-Leigh love each other. These high-school sweethearts looked at each other like Allie and Noah from the Notebook looked at each other.
One of my favorite parts of the day was taking a few minutes for some golden-hour photos in the Pruyn House Gardens! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
