Ocean Grove Portrait Session

Happy October friends! It’s hard to believe we are through the first week of October already! PA weather is still hot and humid. I love the heat, but I’m ready for all things fall! Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to squeeze in one last beach day with two of my best friends. Pro-tip: always wear sunscreen. I do not know if it was the cloudy sky or the fact that it was officially fall, but none of wore sunscreen-and we are all nursing majors so we all know better. But honestly, going to the beach in September is the best! The water is kinda warm, you do not have to pay to get on the beach, and the beach is barely crowded! We went to Ocean Grove, NJ so all the shops and restaurants were still open!

After spending the day napping, reading, and relaxing on the beach, we hit this awesome Mexican restaurant for dinner. Then we awkwardly changed in the tiny beach bathroom, excited to get some awesome shots during golden hour. For those of you who know Gretchen, Hannah, and I, things never seem to go as planned. There is always some sort of tragic comedy that occurs on our adventures. While eating dinner, the sun was starting to set, and started to cast some awesome light for golden hour. Unfortunately, when we got onto the beach, storm clouds rolled in, hiding the sun. There was also this strong wind that came out of nowhere. Oh, and did I mention that the humidity was 95%?

Thanks to our Canon cameras, reflectors, and Amy and Jordan Demos, we were able to get some awesome shots. But looks can be deceiving! We were freezing and covered with wet sand, but we did not let that put a damper on our day! Here are a few photos from that windy evening! And shout out to https://gretchenhope.photography/  for the awesome photos of me! So excited to shoot another wedding with you tomorrow!
