Happy October friends! It’s hard to believe that we are just about halfway through the month already. This fall has been full of client meetings, lots of amazing shoots, and some pretty fantastic weddings!
This past spring, I had the pleasure of meeting Jane and Ben to chat about their upcoming 2024 wedding! Jane is a physical therapist at Albany Medical Center (although somehow I don’t think we have ever worked together) and Ben is an engineer. Jane is friends with Cate, and you can check out her and Phil’s wedding blog post here.
When I met them, I instantly fell in love with them and their love story! Jane and Ben are an adventurous couple who love their doodle Finley and share my love for Birkenstocks. The day after I met up with them, they ran a half marathon together (couple goals). They love to spend summers together on the lake with Finley.
Ben popped the question on Super Bowl Sunday while they were skiing (talk about a well-planned and romantic proposal). They are planning to tie the knot with their family and friends at the Altamont Fairgrounds next summer!
When Jane suggested we meet up at Thacher Park for their engagement session, I was so excited! I have shot many sessions at Thacher Park, but fall is my favorite season to shoot there. I was so thrilled when they brought props to the session, and could not believe how well Finley posed for the photos (like my dog would never tolerate wearing sunglasses).
We started off the session hiking down Indian Ladder Trail, and ended the session popping open a bottle of wine at the overlook. Even though the weather that morning was cloudy and rainy, the day ended with some magic sun and a gorgeous sunset. Jane and Ben, you guys absolutely rocked your engagement session, and I am SO excited to capture your wedding day next year!
